Renjaku aun is a stylish cafe/shop in central Takasaki city. Newly opened in 2023, it sells take-out lunches, drinks (including beer), and local vegetables. The fried horse mackerel sandwich is delicious and highly recommended.
The name of the shop “Okatte Ichiba” means kitchen market, which is located next to World Heritage Site Sekaito Visitor Center and Tomioka City Hall. It sells local farm products and kitchen items and operates a cafe in the back of the store. Once a month it holds a marché in the square in front of the store and locals sell local produce and handmade goods..

Kissa Coffee is a shop/cafe which offers a carefully curated selection of green coffee beans from around the world. You can enjoy different tastes and flavors of the same beans roasted according to your preference (approx. 30 minutes). Customers waiting for roasting will receive a complimentary cup of coffee. This factory and store produces and sells about 300 designs of tenugui. Tenugui is a traditional, stencil dyed rectangular piece of absorbent cloth which may be used as a washcloth, headband, for wrapping bottles, or simply as decoration. Their tenuguis are also sold at Takasaki Station “Gunma IROHA“.

ABC GARDENS sells various kinds of flowers, herbs, plants, and gardening supplies. It is located at the foot of Kannon-yama, in Notsuke-machi, and takes 10 minutes by car from Takasaki Station.

Monte DORAGO sells a wide variety of cheeses imported weekly from France and Italy, such as Camembert, Roquefort, Parmigiano, Mozzarella, etc. The owners explain many ways to prepare cheese dishes, and make recommendations based on your favourite cheeses. Tasting is also available.
Near Byakui Kannon statue there is a long-running family business that, as well as traditional daruma, geta sandals, chopsticks and wood crafts, sells a wide range of hand-made baskets and bags. Their raw materials include bamboo, mountain grapevines, and rattan. Prices for the bags are high, but would be considerably higher at a department store. It is fun to browse the variety of crafts in this charmingly cluttered old shop.
