An offbeat store offering high-end eyewear and a range of hand-dripped coffees. The very attentive shop manager is happy to explain the characteristics of each blend (coffee) and brand (glasses).

Oitette

Oitette is a cozy, local restaurant serving health concious food, such as handmade cheese burgers, pork and chicken plates served with brown rice and salad.

Vegetarians and vegans can be accommodated. A selection of homemade cookies, scones, muffins and other cakes are also available.

The staff can speak English to a good level.

Vegetable Cafe Mahaloha

Kurashiya

Kurashiya is a small, traditional private home cafe run by a chemical-sensitive woman. Lunch is traditional Japanese home made food, that’s healthy and can be made vegan-friendly. The restaurant opens only on Wednesdays, and diners are subject to a number of conditions, see below .

The cafe is a chemical-free space. Please refrain from using synthetic detergents, fabric softeners, fragrances. In addtion, customers are requested not to visit if they have had a perm or dyed their hair within the past two weeks. The owner reserves the right to refuse admission. The cafe is also a “digital detox area”. There is no wi-fi. Please turn off your cell phone before entering the cafe.

The owner doesn’t speak English. Please visit together with a Japanese speaker.

Hocoro

Hocoro is an organic cafe with vegan-friendly selections. Dishes are imaginative, delicious and healthy. The seasonal set meals change every week. The cafe also offers meat and non-vegan dishes (e.g. containing shellfish, dairy, egg etc), desserts (no white sugar), home-roasted coffee and more.
Cooking classes are offered on the fourth Friday and Saturday of the month.
