Mikuriya
Mikuriya is a small restaurant in a renovated private home in Kanna district. The owner/chef cooks and serves healthy meals with lots of vegetables. The menu is limited, but she can cater for allergies and food preferences if you let her know when making a reservation.
Opening hours: 11:00-18:00 Friday to Sunday (Closed Monday to Thursday)
Due to the limited number of seats, reservation is recommended.

Cafe Takasaki JIMAN
Cafe Takasaki Jiman is conveniently located within the OPA shopping mall, just a 2-minute walk from Takasaki Station. It serves a variety of dishes and desserts made with local ingredients, among them Takasaki soul food “YAKIMANJYU” (skewered steamed buns coated with sweetened miso), all at reasonable prices. The cafe’s sister shop is located on the mall’s first floor.

Renjaku Aun
Renjaku aun is a stylish cafe/shop in central Takasaki city. Newly opened in 2023, it sells take-out lunches, drinks (including beer), and local vegetables. The fried horse mackerel sandwich is delicious and highly recommended.

Mokumoku
Mokumoku (literally “fluffy”) is a cafe in Nankomaki Village in Gunma’s Kanra district, and offers light meals made with local ingredients. It also sells Ugandan coffee.
Nanmoku Village is an area rich in nature, with camping sites and hiking spots.

Chotto Shita Cafe
The name of “Chotto Shita Cafe” means “cafe of little something”. Located in a renovated private house, it serves handmade, wholesome meals and sweets. It is found in the nature-rich Nanmoku village, and is a great place to spend some quiet, relaxing time.
